These sintered diamond burs feature a 3 mm shank and are designed for use in rotary tools.

Unlike electroplated diamond burs, where the diamond grit is only bonded to the surface, sintered diamond burs contain diamond particles distributed throughout the entire working head. As the bur wears during use, fresh diamond grit is continuously exposed. This makes sintered burs substantially more durable, longer lasting, and more consistent in performance over time.

The sintering process also allows for a more aggressive cutting action and improved longevity when working on abrasive matrix, hard sediments, and mineralised material. They are particularly useful for controlled shaping and texturing.

To maintain optimum cutting performance, the burs should occasionally be cleaned and reconditioned using a dressing stone. This removes embedded material and exposes fresh diamond grit.
