Both halves of a popped nodule containing three Xipheroceras and some small Cymbites, even a tiny Asteroceras. One Xiph is 45mm diam and popped, although only a partial as it is on the edge of the rock. The second Xiph is complete but preserved in poor quality calcite, and again popped (30mm). The third is just visible and around 35mm diameter, it needs preparing and looks good quality.
Rock 125mm X 100mmFull nodule 60mm thick
★ ★ ★ Difficult. Recommended to use air pens and/or air abrasive where possible. Harder rocks and more complex fossils. More likely to be ‘sticky’.
