The AECR Remote Feed Air Eraser with Quart Cup (946ml) offers greater freedom of movement through use of a larger abrasive compound container which feeds abrasive by hose to the AECR Eraser. The large container allows the operator to work for longer between refills.

Suitable for use with our ZOIC PalaeoTech 53μm Aluminium Oxide powder. Recommended fill is 1/4 to 3/4 full for best powder flow, and use between 30-45 PSI.

50 PSI Max. DO NOT EXCEED THIS FOR YOUR SAFETY AND THAT OF THE UNIT.  IT IS NOT RATED FOR ANY HIGHER PRESSURES THAN 50 PSI.

  • Air consumption at 40 PSI (2.75 Bar): 17lpm (0.6 CFM)
  • Air consumption at 50 PSI (3.44 Bar): 20lpm (0.7 CFM)

This air consumption means that it will run off our 24l NuAir Compressor, as well as most noisy, direct drive 24l air compressors. You will need to check that your air compressor is capable of the output required to keep comfortably within its duty cycle. If you're not sure, contact us with the specification, make and model and we will do our best to help you.

At ZOIC PalaeoTech, we also include a quick connector for you so that you can get up and running quickly! The fabric covered hose that connects to the compressor is approx. 180cm long and very flexible.

We would strongly recommend purchasing the following products with the Paasche AECR:

  • Pressure Regulator (to prevent accidently running over pressure) and associated fittings (you will also need a quick coupler with a 1/4" BSP male thread, and a 1/4" male-male NPT to BSP equal connector)
  • Dropout Air Filter to control the moisture in your airlines once and for all. This is important to prevent clogs and allow for even powder flow. You might be able to get away with a cheaper and less effective water trap, but don't expect the unit to perform at its best.

What's the difference between the AECR (this one) and the AEC (the one with the little cup on top)?

Powder flow is usually steadier in the AEC than the AECR, but the trade off is that you have to fill up the little cup on top very frequently. We would recommend having a Dropout Air Filter in your lines if using the AECR as it is more sensitive to moisture levels and therefore clogging without sufficient filtration. Please bear in mind that the maximum operating pressure of the AECR is 15 PSI less than the AEC. Therefore, it feels quite a bit weaker to use and does not blast the powder out as powerfully, but it is sufficient for finishing work to get the last little bits of matrix removed. Some users have both models in their workshop, as they both have a place.

If you can afford it, we would recommend the Vaniman Air Abrasive units, but the Paasche units work sufficiently well for those on a tighter budget.
